Cheese, Program Aplikasi Webcam di Linux Ubuntu
Setelah kemarin sempet nulis cara menginstal aplikasi di linux ubuntu sekarang saya ingin menjelaskan salah satu aplikasi di linux yaitu Cheese. Cheese adalah software untuk menggunakan kamera webcam di laptop maupun di komputer untuk menangkap foto atau merekam video untuk pengguna Linux baik ubuntu maupun linux yang lain.
Menurut situs resminya di http://projects.gnome.org/cheese/ cheese dilengkapi dengan fitur-fitur canggih yang tak kalah hebat dengan aplikasi webcam lainnya. Berikut ini penjelasan dari situs resmi Cheese
"Cheese uses your webcam to take photos and videos, applies fancy special effects and lets you share the fun with others. It was written as part of Google's 2007 Summer of Code lead by daniel g. siegel and mentored by Raphaël Slinckx. Under the hood, Cheese uses GStreamer to apply fancy effects to photos and videos. With Cheese it is easy to take photos of you, your friends, pets or whatever you want and share them with others. After a success of the Summer of Code, the development continued and we still are looking for people with nice ideas and patches ;) "

Cara Install Cheese
Cara instal cheese cukup mudah, jika komputer kita terhubung dengan internet cukup buka terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) lalu ketikkan mantra berikut ini :
sudo apt-get install cheese
lalu bagaimana buat yang gak konek internet? jangan khawatir, cukup download file installernya yang berekstensi *.deb di situs resminya di http://projects.gnome.org/cheese/download
